Lead-acid battery is a type of battery that has become widespread due to its high specific capacity and sufficiently long discharge-charge cycle life. A battery consisting of lead-acid accumulators is abbreviated to AKB (Accumulative Acid Battery). AGM (Absorbent Glass Mat) is a lead-acid battery technology created by engineers of the American Gates Rubber Company in the early 1970s. The difference between AGM batteries and classic batteries is that they contain absorbed electrolyte instead of liquid electrolyte, which gives a number of changes in battery properties.

The name of such batteries is an English abbreviation for Enhanced Flooded Battery. It also has electrolyte inside, but less electrolyte than batteries designed with older technologies. Inside this battery are thickened plates protected by covers made of a special reinforced material. These plates are connected by stronger fixtures. The EFB design includes additional protection against vibrations occurring in the vehicle during driving.
